They have clarified that genuine notifications about traffic violations and fine payments will only be sent to your registered mobile number via the Parivahan portal, along with your vehicle number. The MVD has emphasized that they do not send WhatsApp messages with payment links. Such messages are fraudulent attempts to deceive people. The official MVD Facebook page has a post that warns against these scams. As per the information from authorities public must aware of the following points.

  • Official notifications: Genuine traffic violation notices will be sent to your registered mobile number via the Parivahan portal.People can check the challan details using the official link https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/index/accused-challan .
  • No WhatsApp messages: The MVD does not send WhatsApp messages with payment links.
  • Fraudulent attempts: These messages are designed to deceive people and steal their personal information.
  • Stay vigilant: If you receive such a message, do not open it. Take a screenshot and report it to the authorities.
