No Renewal of Insurance is Possible With Valid Pollution Under Control Certificate

     The vehicle owners must strictly follow all the rules stated by the motor vehicle department of the concerned states. In a milestone statement today the Supreme Court announces a remarkable statement that the vehicle insurance may not be renewed with out proper pollution under control  certificate.Also some other notifications may issued regarding this. This will be considered as a great step to protect the air from vehicle pollution.

     Regarding the order the Supreme Court has issued a directive that says insurance of a vehicle will not be renewed unless the owner provides pollution under control (PUC) certificate. The bench headed by Justice Madan B.Lokur given all these directions to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.  This statements compel the authorities to ensure that all fuel refilling centres in the country may havepollution under control (PUC) certificate issuing centres.

     The apex court allowed a time limit of one month to the Center to ensure that there are functional PUC centres in the contry to ensure that all the vehicles  have PUC certificate. In the sitting of the bench the court considered the suggestions provided by The Environment Pollution Control Authority(EPCA) of India.The bench was hearing a petition filed by environmentalist M.C.Mehta way back in 1985 dealing with various aspects of pollution.
