The latest updation in e-ticketing system of Railways department , Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), has launched a new method for booking rail tickets.
As per the update IRCTC e-wallet users can book rail tickets through its mobile app IRCTC Rail Connect. Payments can be done as the other wallets including Paytm or Mobikwik processing. IRCTC e-wallet users can also recharge their wallet and use the amount at the time of booking rail tickets.
Passengers can use the e-wallet facility by registering themselves on the IRCTC website. A user can keep six banks on his preference list. IRCTC e-wallet is among the many payment e-wallet options available on its website as well as mobile app.
IRCTC Rail Connect app also provides the cab booking facility. IRCTC has tied up with Ola to make commuting easy for rail travellers. IRCTC also introduced a system that helps the rail passengers to order food through IRCTC Food on Track app.
Passengers can book food through the Android app using their PNR number. The app allows users to pay online and offline mode through credit card, debit card, internet banking or cash on delivery.
In addition to this the Railways has also launched no bill, free food policy. Under the new policy, if vendor doesn't provide a bill for food and beverages purchased on trains, the passenger can avail the food for free.
